Rhino 8 for architects, engineers and designers
Grasshopper and Rhino inside Tekla and Revit
Rhino Inside is a powerful technology that allows seamless integration of the Rhino 3D modeling software with other design and BIM (Building Information Modeling) platforms such as Tekla and Revit. This integration is amplified by incorporating Grasshopper, Rhino's visual programming language.
In summary, the integration of Rhino Inside and Grasshopper with Tekla or Revit provides a powerful and versatile environment, offering advanced 3D modeling, parametric design, and algorithmic capabilities. This combination fosters a collaborative, efficient, and innovative approach to architectural and structural design.
To the right are the key features and benefits of using Rhino Inside with Tekla or Revit.
Interoperability: Smooth data exchange between Rhino and Tekla/Revit, facilitated by Rhino Inside.
Parametric Modeling: Parametric design within Tekla/Revit using Rhino's capabilities, enhanced by Grasshopper's visual programming.
Design Flexibility: Employ Rhino's advanced modeling tools within Tekla/Revit and extend capabilities with Grasshopper for adaptive design.
Geometry Processing: Advanced geometry processing for intricate design tasks, further empowered by Grasshopper's algorithmic capabilities.
Grasshopper Integration: Seamless integration of Grasshopper into Tekla/Revit via Rhino Inside.
Enhanced Design Iteration: Real-time reflection of Rhino changes in Tekla/Revit, coupled with Grasshopper's dynamic design iterations.

ShrinkWrap creates a watertight mesh around open or closed meshes, NURBS geometry, SubD, and point clouds.

For designers who need to explore organic shapes quickly, SubD is a new geometry type that can create editable,
highly accurate shapes.Unlike other geometry types, SubD combines free-form accuracy while still allowing quick editing.
New in 8 SubD Creases create a feature between a smooth and a sharp edge, great for making fillet-like features.
Accurate, organic modeling just got easier. Push and pull to explore complex, free-form shapes in realtime.
SubD objects are highly accurate and can be converted directly to manufacturable solids.
You can also convert scan or mesh data into SubD objects, then optionally to NURBS.

Rhino 8 adds new features to make modeling more playful and accessible. Combining these tools reduces friction for common solid creation/editing tasks.
This allows you to stay in single Perspective view while modeling.
PushPull
PushPull simplifies and speeds up Solid Modeling by using curves to add or remove volumes from existing geometry.
Inset
Inset offsets edges inward on a mesh, SubD, or polysurface face: an easy way to make sub-faces that can be
PushPulled to define a concept in a few clicks.
Auto CPlanes: Keep Your Perspective
Smarter CPlanes automatically align to eligible selections. It’s now easier to place and edit geometry in the right orientation,
without having to cycle through multiple views.

Quickly Move, Rotate, Scale, Copy, Cut, and Extrude geometry without typing commands or clicking a toolbar button.
This makes the Gumball a versatile direct modeling tool for concept modeling interior and exterior architectural forms,
certain furniture styles, SciFi models, and working with SubD objects.
Cut, Split, Boss, and Extend
When applicable, the Gumball will show an additional handle to make cuts, splits, or bosses with curves, and integrates the extension of adjacent faces in the extrude handle.
Dynamic Relocate
Relocating and reorienting the Gumball is now done by double-clicking any of the handles.
Tooltips
The Gumball has been made more accessible to both new and existing users. Tooltips explain the function of each handle and show the various key presses to change the function.
Simplified Keypresses
The double function of the Ctrl key (Cmd key on Mac) has been eliminated, making the Gumball functions easier to memorize.

________
